"The assigned parking lot was pretty easy to find, but was pretty far. Quick and painless was getting through security - luckily I’d received an email in advance informing me that my normal purse size was too large so I could plan ahead. Mobile and easily accessible were my tickets. I’m not sure much could’ve been done to prevent that, but there were people in our seats that we had to make move. The view from our seats, the sound, the lights, and the performance itself - all fantastic! The show itself was amazing! Organized so each exit gets its own street lane was the way the AT&T center now has it; I was home in 20 minutes, which was a very pleasant surprise! An hour to get out of the parking lot, I kept saying “now we wait”, but really a great experience overall!"
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER
The definition of a performer is George Balanchine's The Nutcracker, an amazing artist whose talent is already well-known. His performance is indescribable, with the way he interacts with the crowd and keeps everyone engaged being unreal. Even after the concert ends, you will be on cloud 9 from his performance, as he dances and moves all around the stage providing a great view from any seat. Live, his voice is even better, and the energy of the fans is amazing, making all the songs a different vibe in person that will make you fall in love with every song all over again.
Rucker and company...made waves at the Wharf
Corey Smith got the crowd warmed up with a fun set list, starting things off. The guitarists in Eli Young are a talented bunch and played their hits. I loved the energy and flow of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker show; it just kept moving! AND, I always love when performers go right into their "encore" performance, not making the crowd clap like a seal for 10 minutes - he just did his thing and did it well! The sound system sounded great for all the acts, unlike venues like Chastain in Atlanta where the sound technician was awful or the speakers were blown! We were in the Pit (up front), and there were a lot of teenagers sneaking under/over the fence partition...security a little oblivious or lax (whichever). I loved that George Balanchine's The Nutcracker ended up "calling out" one of these little punks who had been flipping birds to George Balanchine's The Nutcracker throughout the show. My only other complaint is... I wish the Wharf had more shows throughout the year. Seems like there really isn't a lot of performances at this great venue...give us more, more more!
Chelsea Handler is a huge disappointment
A disgusting opening act kicked off the show 40 minutes after the start time, with Chelsea appearing an hour later. While she initially seemed fine, as she continued to drink on stage, her talk became disgustingly vulgar, forcing us to leave early. Much of what she said was inaudible due to her unclear speech into the microphone. If you appreciate hearing a drunken grown woman discuss masturbation for an hour, this show may be to your liking. However, if you have any class or self-respect, I would recommend skipping this one. The live show was a complete waste of time and money. I typically watch "Chelsea Lately" on TV and am aware that she can be somewhat vulgar, but nothing could have prepared me for the grossly obscene, foul, offensive material in her performance.
